Intro: If I were to ask this question around town, I would probably get a hundred different answers. There have been many books written on this subject. There have been many seminars on this subject. The problem is who’s definition do you believe?

In 1 Samuel 3-4:1, we continue to see the development of this young man, Samuel. I want to suggest that the Bible gives us a very good picture of what success is for a Christ follower. There are three attitudes of the heart in this passage that will help us succeed in our walk with Christ.

Loving Obedience

Closing: This is how God defines spiritual success. We need to let the Holy Spirit cultivate these three basic qualities in our life so that you and I can progress in our spiritual maturity. In this way, God will be able to transform us to become more like Christ from the inside out. Are we willing to be humble before God? Are we willing to be available for God? Are we willing to loving obey His Word?
