What Are the Keys to Real Worship?

Passage: 1 Samuel 2
Service Type:

Bible Text: 1 Samuel 2 | Preacher: Rev. Dr. Lou Saldiveri | Series: Sunday Morning Worship | Intro: Have you ever felt that sometimes your worship was routine, flat, blah? I want to suggest that the problem isn’t with the worship leaders of musicians, or with the type of building in which you are worshiping, or with the preacher. I would suggest the problem is much deeper within us. You and I are responsible for the depth and meaning of worship or the lack of it.

In this day and age of entertainment, self centered mentalities, and consumerism, I am afraid we can miss the keys to real, meaningful, and heartfelt worship.

The prayer of Hannah in 1 Samuel 2:1-11 gives us great insight to the keys that will fuel real worship.

Let’s define the biblical meaning of worship before we begin. In the original languages, the word “worship” means service. Isn’t that interesting?
