— Pastor Lou’s Notes —
Intro: There is pain when there is a separation from the one’s we love. Example, when parents drop off children at a summer camp or college. When children get married and start a life of their own. Can you imagine if your children were taken from you by force?
A heart of compassion always:
1. Has Concerns about Spiritual Welfare and Warfare
1. Explain the difference between concern and worry
2. The need for discipleship
3. Making time to genuinely love and care
2. Rejoices when loved ones stand firm during time of trail
3. Encourages to press on with God
4. Prays to stand firm and finish well
Closing Illustration:
With hearts fill of God’s compassion, we can nurture, rejoice, encourage, and pray for our loved ones and friends. Because of the intense spiritual warfare and cultural pressures we face, we all need encouragement and the help of the Holy Spirit to continue to honor God and finish well.
Graduations: A celebration of finishing well. There are many graduations in life that we can experience in the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit. Walking through trials and tests in a manner that honors God and has a positive influence on others.
1. Standing firm against peer pressures
2. Standing firm against the prevailing cultural pressures
3. Standing firm against the pressures to compromise in the workplace or at school
4. Saying yes to the good principles of the Scripture and no to the things that are contrary to the Scriptures.
