Learn, Train and Go!

Passage: Luke 9
Service Type:

Bible Text: Luke 9 | Preacher: Rev. Dr. Lou Saldiveri | Series: Sunday Morning Worship

— Pastor Lou’s Notes —

Intro:

What if someone handed you keys to a passenger jet and said to you just fly it? How would you feel? Even if you have a desire to pilot a plane, just the desire doesn’t make you a pilot.

First, you need to have a desire to be a pilot.

Second, you need to attend ground school before you even fly with an instructor.

Third, you need observation and hands on training with a qualified instructor.

Fourth, after many hours of practice with an instructor and when he feels you are ready. he will have you pilot your first solo flight.

It is vitally important that all pilots be fully equipped and trained. Would you want to get on a jet with someone in the pilot’s seat who is not trained? How much more important is it that we submit ourselves to God and leaders in the church for training?

Today, we are starting a series on how Jesus calls, trains, equips, and releases us for ministry,

First, Jesus calls us v. 1Look at Luke 5:1-11Notice Jesus was teaching a crowd of people when some fishermen caught his eyeHe did not hesitate to get into their world e.g he called them in the middle of their work.Jesus calls with a specific purpose and goalHe calls us to be part of the kingdom work He is doing in this world. This is His story which is much bigger than we can imagine.Have you determined to what Jesus has called you?
