“Learn About People!” Ecclesiastes 4:7-16 July 24, 2022

Passage: Ecclesiastes 4:7-16

Sometimes when we are in a place with many people like a  boardwalk in the summer, or a shopping mall, or even in a crowded store, we have probably done some people watching. It is not fair to make judgments about people just on a brief encounter e.g. you should never judge a book by its cover. However, if we can study a person over a period of time, we can learn a lot from their lives. We can learn things like every person is unique. Our DNA makes each of us physically unique. Our family of origin, experiences, education, and worldview may make us different from each other is some aspects of our lives. This will affect our view on relationships e.g. friends and family, our work ethic, our views on wealth, poverty, and success.

In this passage, Solomon studies and learns from 3 people he encounters. Perhaps, we can learn something about doing life independently from God, the pit falls, and the better way to live from a biblical perspective.
