Intro: Sometimes, God sends us a person who can help us from making a big mistake. Has the ever happened to you? When it does happen, we have a choice to make. It is a very simple choice: we either listen and obey or we refuse to listen and make a mess of the situation. It is a choice between reacting selfishly, or responding in a manner that glorifies God.

In this passage, God show us a great principle. God looks for progress, not perfection. Even a man after God’s own heart was not perfect. David was ready to take revenge on a mean and unfair business man who refused to help David and his men. He was already to make a great mistake when God sends him a person of great wisdom.

A person after God’s own heart is not immune or infallible to life’s challenges. David was far from perfect.

Unchecked anger will cloud our judgment and decisions
Unchecked anger will result in bitterness and violence
A Person After God’s Own Heart Needs a Teachable Spirit
God sends an intelligent, beautiful, godly woman to give him sound godly advice

A Person After God’s Own Heart Knows God Is In Control
God’s timing is perfect
God will do the right thing at the right time
God’s will is always the best because He is glorified

Can we agree on the fact that no Christian is perfect? Are we teachable? Will, we yield to God for His honor and glory?
