Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 | Preacher: Rev. Dr. Louis Saldiveri | Series: Spiritual Gifts | Intro: There is a city in Texas called Corpus Christi. The name is literally translated the body of Christ. God ordained and empowered the church to be the body of Christ. What does that mean? It means that every local church represents the body of Christ here on earth until Christ returns. That is, we are to do the work of Christ as He did when He walked this earth. Jesus, Himself, said to His apostles before His crucifixion that He would not leave them alone after He ascended into heaven. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to empower and equip the church to do the ministry of Christ.
For me, this concept is so incredible. Jesus said that when He ascends into heaven, the church will be able to do even more than He did when He walked this earth.
